OLD BRIDGE – More than 40 members of the Old Bridge Business Alliance and the Old Bridge Sayreville South Amboy Chamber of Commerce (OBSSA) learned about the township’s economic growth during a monthly meeting in July.

Members met with Mayor Owen Henry and Executive Director of the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development Steve Mamakas at the recently-opened Via Sposito restaurant on Route 516.

The meeting provided an opportunity for local business owners, not-for-profit organizations and township officials to share news and tips.

More than 200 new businesses have opened in Old Bridge over the past three years, attracted by the size and location of the township, its access to public transportation, and the support provided by township officials.

“The fact that Old Bridge was recently named the 15th safest small city in America will draw an even greater number of residents and businesses in the near future,” said Henry.

Members met with new Old Bridge Alliance member and celebrity Butch Patrick, best known as “Eddie” from the popular television show “The Munsters,” who spoke about his experience on the show.

OBSSA President Russ Azzarello and trustee Annette Maxwell were also present, allowing for enhanced partnerships for both groups to work together to benefit the local business community.
