OLD BRIDGE – Mayor Owen Henry, Township Council, Hackensack Meridian Healthcare Raritan Bay Medical Center Old Bridge, Old Bridge Township Public School District, Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse and Old Bridge Police Department are coming together to host a Mayor’s Town Forum on the opioid crisis.

This event will take place on April 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay Medical Arts Building, 3 Hospital Plaza, Old Bridge.

The guest speakers include Dr. Bonnie Nolan (Ph.D.) addiction services coordinator for Peer Recovery in Woodbridge and William F. DiStanislao (MS, MPA) vice president, Operations & Site Executive for Old Bridge at RBMC.

“This is a matter that has concerned many of our residents and one that affects us all,” said Owen Henry. “As a Township we are coming together with the Municipal Alliance, Hospital, Police, and school to ensure that we are doing our best to educate Old Bridge families on this topic.”

The misuse of and addiction to opioids — including prescription pain relievers, heroin, and synthetic opioids such as fentanyl — is a serious national crisis that affects public health as well as social and economic welfare.
