MONROE — Forsgate Country Club’s Frank Esposito, Jr. a member of its teaching professional staff, qualified to play in the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship this week at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.
The tournament is from May 23-26, with a $3.25 million purse.
Esposito, 56, was one of 35 professionals who earned a spot in the tournament.
“This is a significant achievement for Frank as hundreds of the world’s best senior golfers and former PGA TOUR players battled to earn a berth in the Senior PGA Championship,” said Chris Schiavone, Forsgate’s managing partner. “Everyone at the club wishes Frank well as he competes against a strong field. Considered by many as New Jersey’s best senior golfer, Esposito has played in PGA Tour Champions Tour tournaments, competed in the U.S. Open and in two PGA Championships. In 2014, he won the Senior PGA Professional National Championship. Esposito has a stellar New Jersey golf resume. He is a five-time NJPGA Player of the Year, a two-time NJ Open champion and is a member of the New Jersey PGA Hall of Fame.
