Rabbi Tiferet Berenbaum

Rabbi Tiferet Berenbaum will discuss race and religion at Temple B'nai Shalom on Nov. 8.

EAST BRUNSWICK – The Daniel Pearl Education Center will host a talk called “Intersection Point: A Conversation on Religion and Race.”

Rabbi Tiferet Berenbaum of Temple Beth Zion Brookline in Massachusetts will led the discussion during Shabbat Services on Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. at Temple B’nai Shalom in East Brunswick.

“At this time, we need to reach out to vulnerable groups in our society,” Berenbaum said. “We need to model overcoming ignorance and fear in favor of understanding and relationships.”

Berenbaum has a front seat at the intersection of race, racism and religion, giving her insights into how different groups of people see the world and refining her powers of empathy.

“When we genuinely ask questions and seek understanding, we build trust that leads to strong relationships,” she said.

Temple B’nai Shalom is at 15 Fern Road, East Brunswick.
