Nicholas' Trek with Tourette's

Community members from the Spotswood area participate in a walk on Saturday to raise support and funding to people living with Tourette's.

SPOTSWOOD — Approximately 75 community members joined the Spotswood Police Department and PBA Local 225 on Saturday in a walk called Nicholas’ Trek with Tourette’s, which raised awareness and support for the neurological disorder.

The event’s namesake, Nicholas DeLieto, a fourth-grader at Appleby School, was diagnosed with Tourette’s five years ago.

Proceeds from the walk will benefit the NJ Center for Tourette Syndrome. The walk exceeded its $3,000 fundraising goals, netting nearly $3,300 as of May 22.

The walk began at the Immaculate Conception parking lot in Spotswood and concluded in Helmetta at the Maple Street Pavilion.
